What is Massage Therapy?

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is a holistic approach to healing and well-being that utilizes various techniques to manipulate the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons, and fascia. It involves the skilled application of pressure, kneading, stretching, and rubbing to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and alleviate pain.

The practice of massage therapy is deeply rooted in ancient traditions and has been recognized for its therapeutic benefits for centuries.

From Swedish massage to deep tissue techniques, massage therapy offers numerous physical and mental health benefits, making it an essential component of your comprehensive holistic wellness strategy. Self care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity

I bring almost 20 years of experience and a commitment to continuous education to every appointment. Your session will be customized to meet your unique needs, incorporating techniques and pressure levels tailored to how you're feeling. For enhanced relaxation and tension relief, I also offer the option to incorporate hot stones and singing bowls into your massage.

Therapeutic Massage Modalities

Massage Therapy Styles Offered

You can include craniosacral or an energy medicine technique to your massage session.

  • Deep Tissue. It helps release tension by targeting deeper layers of muscle and in the connective tissues, or fascia, beneath the muscles.

  • Swedish. A more gentle massage, it uses a series of light, long strokes to ease surface tension and stimulate circulation in the muscles.

  • Neuromuscular Therapy. This therapy involves soft tissue manipulation to help improve nervous system function and the overall function and alignment of the skeletal system and includes trigger point technique. Using static and consistent pressure on a specific area of the body, it effectively helps to reduce pain and tension. This is a more targeted approach to relieving dysfunction.

  • Pregnancy Massage. Specialized adjustments are made to any other type of session offered to fit the needs of women working through conception, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

Can be applied to any other services offered and adjusted to a prenatal session.  Safe through all stages of a healthy pregnancy(high-risk indicators may need doctor approval).

  • Reflexology. This modality is safe for everyone and can alleviate suffering from stress and anxiety, diabetic neuropathy, and is a wonderful compliment to other ongoing treatments
